If you arrive at the Abortion clinic feeling ambivalent or undecided, your abortion could be delayed or rescheduled.

Make a list of everything you'll need to do to get to the clinic, arrange transportation, housing, child care, and who can help you.

If you need an excuse for a day, tell people you are visiting a friend or family member. If you need time from work,  or school, most clinics will  provide you with a written medical excuse.

Make a checklist of everything you need to take with you: directions, ID, money, Be sure you have the clinic's number, and call if you're going to be late.

If you feel upset when you reach the clinic, ask to speak with a counselor.

Make sure you have written aftercare instructions and the provider's 24-hour emergency number before you leave the clinic.

If you develop a high fever or are bleeding through more than one pad per hour, call the clinic immediately.

A follow-up appointment 2 to 3 weeks after the procedure is essential to make sure you have fully recovered from the abortion.
