Calculation Information

The following is a guideline for Child Support Calculation

Each party's gross income is determined.

Specified deductions such as income taxes, social security, mendatory union dues, and health insurance premiums paid for the children, are allowed and substracted from the gross income.

The parties' net incomes are added together to arrive at a combined income.

A table is consulted which uses the combined income to determine the financial needs of the number of children for whom support is to be paid.

Each parent's percentage of combined income is calculated, and applied to the needs of the children, to determine how much is to be contributed by each parent.
