Tips for saving Money on Birthday Party

Keep the birthday bash as small as possible, usually between 5-10 is plenty.

Bake the cake yourself.

Use cheap things you can paint or turn into something else for decorations. The dollar store is a wonder for this. Small inexpensive pack of construction paper can become paper chains, of any color combo you want. Plus, your child can help make them.

Make hats out of newspaper and let the kids decorate them at the party. Use buttons, markers, crayons, sequins, anything you can think of.

Use balloons, you can blow them up and make them special by putting confetti in them...hang one from the ceiling with Candy in it and draw names for it when the party is about over as a prize.

Ask around your friends or family. The may have left over stuff you can get from them for free.

If you are doing a theme party and your child really wants those decorated plates, then buy them if you want. Just make all the other decorations plain in the same colors.

Print a banner on your computer and let the birthday kid color it, and use it as a guestbook for when people arrive. Or use a plain sheet with a magic marker.

For goodie bags, buy things at the dollar store. You get more than one of...such as stickers, cars, candy, things like that.

Be creative. look around and look for things you can use for other purposes.

Instead of having the birthday party at a restaurant, try having it at a park, or at a friends place that has what you need like more room etc.
